The Making Men is a Rite of Passage program for all boys age 14 – 17 and their fathers or a male mentor. Over 150,000 people globally have attended these life changing programs developed by Dr Arne Rubinstein, author of The Making of Men.
The camp is focused on bringing out the best in your boy and addresses the physical, emotional and psychological changes happening in his life in a safe and structured way.
During the camp your boy will participate in activities and learns skills that will build a stronger father son relationship, develop more confident communication, improve his self-esteem and social skills, plus he will gain skills, tools and experience to help him become a motivated, responsible and resilient young man.
What is a Rite of Passage?
For thousands of years, Indigenous and traditional communities recognised the importance of supporting individuals to transition safely from one stage of life to another through Rites of Passage.
Marking these transitions were seen as fundamental in the growth, connectedness and health of an individual and community. In modern society, the need for programs that help equip young people with the confidence and tools to tackle the adventure and challenges that lie ahead are more critical than ever.
One of the most beneficial aspects of the camp is allowing the time for your son to think about his future, what sort of relationships he would like to have and what type of man he would like to become. It also gives him an opportunity to think about what childhood behaviours he is ready to let go of as he moves into manhood.
